First we are going to discuss about what salar is. Salar is kind of flatland which is formed from the transformation of prehistoric lake. The lake was covered by the salt crust. The crust has extraordinary flatness that allows it to form the flatland. After million years of covering process, the lake becomes the flatland now and people in Bolivia names it Salar de Uyuni. This becomes the main tourism place for domestic and foreign tourists. It also becomes the major route to cross Bolivia. Pink flamingos are the main species live in this salar.
